Duas for Patience and Tranquility

Dua for Patience

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Rabbana afrigh 'alaina sabran wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal-qawmil-kafirin.

"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make our steps firm and assist us against the disbelieving people."

(Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:250)

Dua for Anger Management

أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

A'udhu billahi minash-shaitanir-rajim.

"I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected."

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

Hadith on Controlling Anger

لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ

Laisash-shadidu bis-sur'ah, innama ash-shadidu alladhi yamliku nafsahu 'ind al-ghadab.

"The strong person is not the one who can physically overpower others; rather, the strong person is the one who controls himself when angry."

(Sahih al-Bukhari)

Hadith on the Reward for Patience

وَالصَّبْرُ ضِيَاءٌ

Wal-sabru diya.

"And patience is a shining light."
